Welcome to the Albany RP Political Action Committee. We are a PAC opposing implementation of the Real ID Act in NY State. - We have shifted our focus from our original purpose of supporting the Ron Paul Presidential Campaign to fighting against the Real ID Act. - The Real ID Act was passed as a rider to a Military Spending Bill and signed by Bush back in 2005. - It is a standardized form of ID which the Federal Government expects all 50 States to implement and pay for with their own money. - It amounts to a national ID card complete with biometric data for every American Citizen. |

- We are raising money to produce post card sized literature informing the people of New York State about the dangers posed to them from the Real ID Act. - The post card will explain Read ID in a brief set of bullet points and also direct them to web links containing more detailed information. - The cards will have the address of the State Legislature on them with a blank line for people to write in the name of their State Representative and mail it to them. The cards will also contain a web link for people to easily look up the name of their State Representative. - As many cards as we can afford to produce will be distributed to people on the street and at various public functions. |
